The Boys’ Brigade, founded in 1883, is the oldest uniformed youth organisation in the world and has a long and proud history across Inverclyde.
The Brigade experience is a uniquely rewarding one for members of all ages. Grounded in faith, moulded by respect for others, with a personal and collective discipline at its core and an action packed, fun filled programme of activities and experiences to challenge everyone who gets involved.
Down through the years tens of thousands of boys have enjoyed the Brigade experience across Inverclyde, forming lasting memories and lifelong friendships through their membership, whilst enjoying the innovative programmes of activities and fellowship on offer. Past members have gone on to enjoy careers across wide and varied businesses and industries and public service contributing to their communities across Gourock, Greenock and Port Glasgow.
Boys' Brigade membership can help young people develop their personal skills, involve them in activities which they may otherwise not experience and to mature as they grow their personalities and friendships.
The first BB company was formed in Greenock in 1887 and now with 10 companies spread throughout Inverclyde your local company is primed and ready to introduce new members to the benefits of Brigade membership.
The local, experienced, ' Brigade team offer a safe, happy and welcoming environment for young people of school age.
